Context
MdM strategy in Palestine focuses on 2 pillars: Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPREP) and Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), with two cross-cutting topics: Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and gender mainstreaming. In MHPSS, MdM intervention in the Palestine is focused on provision of MHPSS emergency response activities following critical incidents related to occupation, local partners capacity building and MHPSS integration at Ministry of Health (MoH) Primary Health Care Centres (PHCCs).
MdM Palestine has one office in Gaza, a base in the West Bank (Nablus), an office in Jerusalem, and a coordination office in Bir Zeit – Ramallah.
Job description
Under the supervision of the the deputy general coordinator in charge of programs (DPGP), and in close coordination with the field coordinators, you are in charge of designing, planing, adapting and monitoring all MHPSS activities. You ensure the quality and relevance of MHPSS activities, practices, and data analysis, which will be reflected in both MdM’s internal reports and donor reports.
More specifically, your main responsibilities are the following:
Program management
- Implement the project in accordance with MdM and global MHPSS standards and guidelines
- Participate in the development and review of various MHPSS resources, tools, and brochures. Regularly review and update these materials to ensure they remain relevant and effective
- In collaboration with the MEALcoordinator and the medical coordinator, lead the analysis of the MHPSS data on a regular basis and set up corrective measures when necessary
- Monitor the performance indicators previously defined and identify any challenges encountered during implementation
- Actively participate in Grant opening meetings, program review sessions, closure meetings, and assessments
- Provide continuous updates of the MHPSS service mapping, with the support of the MHPSS managers
- Ensure MHPSS program budget is consumed according to plan by close coordination with the finance department
- Collaborate with other MHPSS programs of MdM in the LACMENA region
Capacity building and technical support
- Ensure up-to-date job descriptions for MHPSS team members
- Participate actively in the recruitment (technical tests, technical interviews, etc.) of the staff unde your technical responsibility
- Ensure that newly recruited MHPSS staff are properly inducted and provided with necessary tools and guidelines
- Provide technical guidance to MHPSS managers, including setting objectives and responsibilities, in alignment with field activities
- Participate in the annual performance reviews for MHPSS managers
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and support for MHPSS-related training and group clinical supervision
- Hold regular team meetings with MHPSS managers and ensure the proper flow of information within the MHPSS team
- Reinforce good dynamics in the team, collaboration, and teamwork
- Identify training needs for MHPSS staff and other MdM personnel on MHPSS topics and provide both organizational and technical support for training sessions
Logistical and administrative support
- Upon request from the MHPSS managers, contribute to the analysis of technical bids submitted by suppliers for MHPSS program-related purchases
- Upon request from the MHPSS managers, participate in the monthly financial forecasting for planned MHPSS program activities
- Work closely with the logistics and administrative departments
Coordination and Representation
- Represent MdM and ensure good relations are maintained with stakeholders (local authorities, MoH, and other NGOs) consistent with the principles of transparency and independence of MdM
- Participate in MHPSS coordination meetings for information sharing, collaboration with partners, referral mechanisms, and advocacy for best practices and IASC MHPSS guidelines
- Ensure close coordination with UN agencies, NGOs, MHPSS local partners and local authorities in MdM area of intervention
Vos conditions d'emploi
- Starting date: May 2025
- 3-month fixed term contract (renewable)
- Gross monthly salary: €3,306
- Position based in Bir Zeit-Ramallah, with regular field visits to Nablus and Gaza (considering the actual security constraints, Gaza support is now remote)
- Premium equal to one month salary paid in two instalments – minimum of 6 months seniority required
- Expatriation bonus (10% gross salary per month)

- 22.5 recovery days per year
- 5 weeks of paid leaves per year
- Health insurance (50% covered by MdM)

Votre profil
- Master’s degrees in psychology (Clinical Psychology is an asset)
- Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in a similar position in the humanitarian sector
- Experience in Health/Mental Health project management within the humanitarian sector or a related field
- Previous experience, knowledge and skills in integrated programming, emergency response, protection as an asset
- Solid knowledge and experience in leading Mental Health needs assessments
- Experience in working with local authorities, and local partners
- Knowledge and understanding of project management tools (logical framework analysis, project cycle management, objectives, and indicators, reporting etc.)
- Experience in managing several multi-faceted projects across several areas
- Capacity building skills
- Good analytical and diplomacy skills
- Coaching, leading, and supportive management style (experience managing and supervising staff)
- Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office
- Languages: English is mandatory (both written and oral). Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is an asset
